Administrative Professionals Week at Abby Connect

One of my favorite weeks in the office is Administrative Professionals' Week. Specifically on April 27th, Administrative Professional's day, the mood in our phone answering service facility is fun filled with positive energy and loads of appreciation.  Administrative Professional's Day serves to recognize the work that secretaries, assistants, receptionists and other admin support do on a daily bases. Appreciation is at the core of our values, so we go big on this day, and our receptionists feel it.

First things first

An administrative assistant's role goes far beyond inputting information and screening calls. Long gone are the days where a receptionist's and secretary's job was deemed as simple. Acknowledging this is crucial because there is no such thing as "just a receptionist." Your receptionist is the face of your company. It's the first voice clients hear, the first face they see.  They play one of the most active and critical roles within your company. Your administrative support has a huge impact on your company. How you treat them then correlates with the level of customer service that is provided.  An exceptional administrative assistant builds relationships with clients, they are attentive, they take over some of your workload and do a whole lot of multitasking.

With that said…

This is why we make APD such a big event to us. It's an event that our receptionists look forward to every year. Not only do we as a company make sure to get our team gifts of appreciation, but our clients surprise us with tokens of appreciation as well! The appreciation overflows from everyone around us, and everyone we impact, and our receptionists know that the work they do doesn't go unnoticed.  This Year our team received Brighton necklace charms with an inspirational quote engraved. Clients also brought everyone treats, desserts, orchids and many other beautiful tokens. Appreciation should be something you give out daily. Take the time to show your team what they mean to you, your company and the people they impact.
